What I need to know from you...

There is some information that I will need to know from you to help with the scheduling and planning of the bris.

When you call to schedule the bris, I will need to know:

  1. What time of day or night was the baby born?
  2. Was it a c-section?
  3. What time range do you want the bris (i.e. early morning, mid-morning, early afternoon, late afternoon)?
  4. Where will the bris be taking place (i.e. Manhattan, Long Island, Westchester, New Jersey, etc.)?
  5. Include one phone number (not your hospital number) where I can reach you directly or leave a voice message.

For example: My baby was born at 2:31 PM on Tuesday by c- section. The bris will be in Manhattan and we'd like the bris in the morning between 9 - 11 AM. You can leave a message on my office voicemail (212) 555- 0000 or at home (914) 555-0000.

I schedule on a first-come, first-served basis. Please try to consider all of the variables when selecting a time for the bris such as those who may be travelling long distances, flight times, etc. Once you select a time, I schedule other brisses around it. Please be certain about the time you want before committing to it.

Remember they may not permit you to use your cell phone in the hospital. If you leave me your hospital phone number, make sure you have the correct number—don't read it off of the telephone, it may not be right. Make sure your phone is turned on and working! Since you will be making many phone calls to tell everyone the joyous news, your line will always be busy. Please leave the line open on the hour or half-hour so I can get through.

Please make sure no one else is making arrangements with another mohel.
